Hi! My name is Melissa Nobbs. I was born in a small town in Utah. Growing up,
my mom (Emily Dinsdale) worked as a designer for Provo Craft. Her love of
art and design rubbed off on me. I have always loved all things creative.
I owned my own photography business for 10 years. My specialty was
newborn and children’s portraits. I have enjoyed doing a lot of scrapbooking,
both traditional and digital. I also love quilting and sewing. I began sewing for
friends in my neighborhood when I was just 9 years old. I usually don’t use
patterns. Instead, I enjoy the challenge of figuring things out as I go. In 2008,
my friend and I began designing vintage style aprons. I had so much fun making
aprons because I love all reminders of past generations.
Although, I’ve had an interest in designing fabric for as long as I remember, I
really became more enthusiastic about it while designing aprons. Lacking
computer skills, I eventually put it aside. In the Fall of 2015 I began longing
to try again. I purchased design software and began learning to use it through
watching YouTube. By the next week I was designing fabric and loving every
minute of it.
I currently live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with my husband and children. I have
been blessed with 5 creative kids, who keep me on my toes with lots of fun
and exciting “projects”.
