There is something magical about old blue canning jars. I love the way they look when the sun shines on them. Blue is my favorite color. And these jars are my very favorite shade of blue.
My grandma cans marinara sauce and some of her jars were my great grand mother's (the blue ones.) I go there often, for sauce, and every time I'm lucky enough to get a blue jar I keep it and add it to my collection in my kitchen. My grandma says that they're tinted blue to help keep light out, putting off deterioration.
